Welcome to South End School's Stride to School Club Website

In our first year we have safely escorted over 500 child journeys, preventing over 300 individual car journeys from being made

South End Infant School in Rushden launched its Stride to School Club in June 2013. Operating in conjunction with the Junior School, its aim is to promote safe and healthy travel to and from both schools. In doing so, it is hoped that congestion along Wymington Road will be reduced and awareness raised about alternatives to driving.

The Club operates every Friday morning, with one route walking up from the Full Gospel Church on High Street South, and the other meeting at the junction of Magnolia Drive and Fuchsia Way, then walking down through Harvey Road.

Each route has been risk assessed by Northamptonshire County Council, and the Club is fully insured. A team of trained volunteers, who have all been vetted by the school, accompany the children from the drop off points into school. All children and helpers wear a high-viz vest so they can be easily spotted.

Our Club is open to ALL children attending South End Schools in Rushden

The Club aims to start small, be safe, learn lessons, grow and develop
